Thank you for being a participant at the 15th annual triathlon.

Welcome to the 16th Annual Concord Family YMCA Triathlon at clough State Park. Whether you’re a first time triathlete or a veteran you will enjoy our clean lake, rolling hills, smooth run, as well as our hospitality and convenient race venue. You will also be racing to support a great cause - the Concord Family YMCA's Kids Campaign fund.


Registration: Online only Register. Please Note there are No Race Day Registrations!
Registration deadline is September 15th.

Many athletes will have their friends and families at the race cheering them on. This support is an important part of the race. Family members are welcome to come and picnic at the park. Our race course is fully monitored.

Event Details Swim 

 

Swim Leg

The swim will take place in Lake Everett a 150-acre lake formed by a dam on the Piscataquog River at Clough State Park in Weare NH, the specifics are below:

Location: Clough State Park - Everett Lake, Weare, NH
Adult Swim Length: 0.5 miles (880 yards)
Youth SwimLength: 250 yards
Description: A swim in a river feed fresh water lake. The route begins and ends at the same point. Stay left of the bouys.

Support: There will be several lifeguards on the water during the swim. They will assist any swimmers. Swimming assist devices (tubes, noodles, floats) will be available to any swimmer that requests or needs them. Volunteers will also be available to help strip off wet suits.
Water temp:
65-69 degrees


Everett Lake Year Temps:

July 17th 2012: 84°

Wet Suits: Because the water temperature will be above 70°, wet suits are not needed, but are allowed.
Route Markings: Large colored buoys ~ Stay to the left of buoys
Waves: The waves will be by age and gender and based on the distribution of registered athletes. The list of waves will be available at the packet pick-up.
Swim Caps: All athletes will be required to wear a swim cap. Latex swim caps will be provided in the race packet/goodie bag.
Special Swim Caps: Red caps will be gladly issued to anyone who would to be watched more closely in the water.
Goggles: Recommended but not required not provided.

ATTENTION: During the swim swimmers may come into contact with plant life and lily pads. Due to the warm temperatures the lily pads and grass at the bottom of the lake have grown fast. Under water plants may be felt when swimming and some lily pads have reached the surface. Please note you can swim right over and through the plants. If you have any concerns please raise your arm and a lifeguard will be there to help.


 

Event Details Bike

Bike Leg

The bike leg will take place on Everett Dam Road just outside of Clough State Park grounds, the specifics are below:

Adult Bike Length: 14 miles
Youth Bike Length: 4 miles
Description: The bike course is moderatly challenging for the first 3.5 miles, after this there are a lot of down hills and flat all the way back expect one last hill just before entering the park.

Helmets: All athletes are required to wear a bicycle helmet during the bike event. In addition, all helmets must be securely buckled prior to leaving the transition area. Riders will not be allowed to exit the transition area unless their helmet is buckled.
Traffic: LOCAL TRAFFIC WILL BE ALLOWED ON THE RACE ROADS DURING THE RACE. Please be safe and watch for traffic at all times.
Police Support: Police will monitor the crossing of all major roads and at other locations. In addition, police on motorcycles will monitor the bike route and escort the lead cyclist.
Route Markings: The course will be generously marked and all turns will have extra markings.
Support on Course: There will be volunteers at several locations.
Number: All racers will need a number on their bike. All numbers are included in the registration bag.
Bikes: Only upright bikes are allowed in this race. Recumbent bikes or bikes with fairings will not be permitted to race. Bikes should be in good mechanical condition.
Drafting: Drafting is NOT allowed.
Water: There will be no water on the course; riders are strongly urged to carry a water bottle on their bike.
Repair: A repair tent is anticipated near the transition area to assist with any minor fixes or tire inflation.
Event Details Run

Run Leg

The run leg will exit the Camp going west and will follow a loop and return to the race finish area. The run is relatively flat. The specifics are below:

Adult Run Length: 3 miles
Youth Run Length: 1 mile
Description: Run will involve two hills and the rest is flat.  Run will exit park onto Everette Rd, return up the hill and go across the damn.  After returning from the turn-around at end of damn, you will return to the transition area where the finishline is located.
