ABOUT US

Welcome to the capital city of New Hampshire and our YMCA! We are a charitable, non-profit, social service agency that is devoted to serving the needs of all families and all ages in the Concord area. We are a full service YMCA that includes a main facility featuring a pool, gym, fitness, etc. as well as a separate 18,000 square
foot childcare facility
. Our goal is to provide a safe environment for individuals and families to strengthen their spirit, mind, and body. We hope that our concentration on our four key character traits of caring, honesty, respect, and responsibility help us create a fun, friendly, and attractive environment.

Our policy is never to turn a family away for their inability to pay. Each year we raise funds to support families that need assistance in childcare, camps and other programs. Our annual Kids Campaign raised over $160,000 in 2004-2005. Thank you to all of our sponsors.

We hope that you enjoy the YMCA experience. We are not just another gym. You are not at just another facility. We have a mission and a purpose. As a new member of the YMCA, you will quickly discover that you belong to a larger family; a family of community.

We are located at 15 N. State Street, Concord, NH (603) 228-ymca (9622). Click here for directions.

THE YMCA MOVEMENT

The young Men's Christian Association (YMCA) was first organized by George Williams in London, England in 1844. Beginning with Bible classes and discussion groups for factory workers, it gradually added both physical equipment and personnel to meet the growing need of young men around the world who had moved to cities to find work and social interaction. The first YMCA in the United States was established in Boston in the year 1851.
