YOUTH GYMNASTICS
There will not be Gymnastics summer 2008, See you in the fall. See our Kids Gym program to bring you kids to a class and get your workout this summer! progressive gymnastics levels I - IV
* Classes will only run with a minimum of 3 participants GYMNASTICS LEVEL I (6 AND UP) This program is designed to teach basic tumbling, basic gymnastic skills, safety and gymnastic rules. Progressive skills development is introduced. Gymnastic events are floor, beam, vault, uneven bars, and rings. GYMNASTICS LEVEL II (6 & UP) Must have completed Level I skills to sign up. Begin work on hand stands on the beam and more dismounts. Toumbling skills include backward rolls and round-offs, moving into a bridge from standing. GYMNASTICS LEVEL III (6 & UP) Must have completed Level II skills to sign up. Begin new handstands and new low beam skills, including cartwheels and round-off dismounts. Learn more skills on the floor, including handstands into bridge, bridge kickovers. Learn back hip circles on uneven parallel bars.
GYMNASTICS LEVEL IV/PRE TEAM(6& UP) Must have completed Level III skills to sign up. Learn new dismounts and cartwheels on the beam and front handspring on the vault. New floor skills mastered include a bridge back return to stand, a front limber and back walkover. Front hip circle will be mastered on the uneven parallel bars. BOYS GYMNASTICS (6 & UP) This program gives boys a true focus of what men's gymnastics is all about. Events covered are tumbling, vaulting, rings and the high bar. OPEN GYMNASTICS (Ages 5 - 12) The gymnastics equipment will be available for FULL MEMBERS of the YMCA to work on and improve their skills they are taught throughout the week. A gymnastics staff member will be there for guidance. Parents are encouraged to help with spotting and supervision. This program takes place within the YMCA's Family time scheduled each week. This is in conjunction with our family nights.GIRLS COMPETITIVE GYMNASTICS TEAM
